According to Kathleen Kennedy’s recent update to Deadline, she hasn’t received a script from director Taika Waititi regarding his Star Wars film yet. She mentioned that he’s currently collaborating with another writer, as he has a busy schedule.
The head of Lucasfilm openly praised Taika Waititi’s past projects and shared, “I have a real fondness for him. If we ever receive a script from him, I believe it will be exceptional. I’ve already seen a first act that I loved, but keeping him committed is quite challenging.
Furthermore, Kennedy spoke about aiming for a style reminiscent of Thor: Ragnarok in Waititi’s Star Wars movie. She continued, “That’s precisely the atmosphere we strive for with directors who can achieve that. It’s not common to find such talent. You’re essentially hunting for the precious gem, and he’s one of them.
