As adventurers traverse the scorching hot lava plains of Galawain’s Tusks within the world of Avowed, they will predominantly meet Pargrun Non-Player Characters (NPCs), a dwarven race. Near Salt Flat Farms, one such NPC seeks the aid of players. He begins by describing how the Salt Flat Farms have been invaded by Xaurips who came from the north. The task now falls upon the players to drive out these invasive creatures so that a band of Pargrun outcasts can establish a new home here, fulfilling the objective of the quest titled “A Home for Outcasts.
How to Start a Home of Outcasts Quest in Avowed
In the game Avowed, you can begin the quest “A Home for Outcasts” by locating the Pargrun Outcast near Salt Flat Farms. This area is positioned to the northeast of Amalia’s Camp. As you journey along the road, you will encounter a Pargrun Non-Player Character (NPC) standing on a rock and calling out. Upon talking to this NPC, he will ask for your help in clearing a nearby settlement of Xaurip infestation so that a group of displaced Pargruns can resettle there.
Here’s what players need to do.
Eliminating Xaurips in Salt Flat Farms
In the game Avowed, a total of four zones must be cleared for players to finish the A Home for Outcasts quest. The initial zone you’ll encounter is the outskirts of Salt Flam Farms. This area primarily hosts smaller Xaurip minions, making them relatively easy to defeat.
As you step into the second section of Salt Flat Farms, you’ll encounter both the Xaurip Warchief and the High Priest. It’s best to prioritize defeating the Xaurip Warchief initially to streamline the process of eliminating smaller minions.
After completing your current task, proceed to the next location where you’ll come across both smaller and larger instances of Ruinous Blights. Lastly, near Salt Flat Farms, you’ll have an encounter with Grey Brown Bears at some point.
Where to Find the Bent Farmhouse Key
After clearing the space, navigate towards the left side of the farmhouse, ascending the hill, to find the location under a tent labeled as Xaurip.
After finding the key, make your way back to the farmhouse at last, use the key to open it and find some treasured items inside. Don’t forget to check out the note on the floor nearby for some intriguing story clues.
Returning to Pargrun Outcast
After you finish the assigned task, go back to Pargrun Outcast and report that everything is safe. He’ll appreciate your assistance from the Envoy, and he’ll reward you with 1800 coins for aiding the Pargruns by cleaning up Salt Flat Farms. This action will also complete the quest “A Home for Outcasts” in Avowed.
