No, Jonathan Capehart Is Not Leaving MSNBC After Show’s Cancellation

There’s a lot of speculation among viewers whether journalist and political analyst Jonathan Capehart will stay with MSNBC following their recent changes in programming. Known for his insightful commentary on American issues, he hosted “The Saturday Show” and “The Sunday Show.” But since these weekend programs have been cancelled, many fans are curious about his future at the network.

So, here’s all you need to know about Capehart’s next role at MSNBC.

Is Jonathan Capehart leaving MSNBC after the new shakeup?

Contrary to rumors, Jonathan Capehart remains with MSNBC as the cancellations of The Saturday and The Sunday Show do not mark his departure.

MSNBC has decided to make some major adjustments in their programming lineup, resulting in the termination of both The Saturday Show and The Sunday Show. Despite this, the popular host will remain with the network, showcasing his political acumen on a new program called The Weekend Show.

Starting from now, the trio consisting of Symone Sanders Townsend, Michael Steele, and Alicia Menendez, who are currently hosting this show, will move on to present a fresh news program instead. Their new timeslot will be at 7:00 pm ET on weekdays, replacing The ReidOut. This new program will run for two hours every Monday, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share that MSNBC is stepping up its game for weekend mornings and evenings with fresh trios taking over The Weekend! Starting from now, we’ll have two editions: the morning edition at 7 a.m. ET and the evening one. Each time slot will be graced by a unique group of anchors. Notably, Capehart is going to be part of the energetic morning crew! To make it even better, weekends will now feature an additional 2 hours of live programming. This is an exciting evolution that I can’t wait to see unfold!

MSNBC’s Ayman Mohyeldin is set to assume the evening hosting role currently held by The Weekend, with other hosts yet to be named. Meanwhile, Ali Velshi, who currently hosts Velshi on weekends from 10 a.m. to noon, will have an extra hour added to his show. (As reported by The Hollywood Reporter)

The reorganization at MSNBC comes after Rebecca Kutler, previously Senior Vice President at CNN, was appointed its new president following Rashida Jones’ exit. As leader, Kutler is overseeing substantial changes within the network, and these shifts include adjustments to current anchor positions.
