Zendaya Joins Cast of ‘Shrek 5’

Zendaya is heading to the swamp as she officially joins the voice cast of the upcoming Shrek 5.

Universal Pictures unveiled the news through a cast announcement video, featuring the lead actor portraying Shrek and Fiona’s daughter, Felicia, in the spotlight. This sneak peek also hinted at the reappearance of Mike Myers as the main character, Cameron Diaz as Fiona, and Eddie Murphy as Donkey, who queries the Magic Mirror, “Who is the fairest of all?” in a playful manner.

As a gamer, I’d put it like this: “Not only did I catch the video, but the official Instagram for the movie also shared a tweet by Zendaya from way back in 2017. In that tweet, she admitted to watching Shrek too frequently as an adult.

The original Shrek team, including Walt Dohrn (who wrote and illustrated for Shrek 2) and Conrad Vernon (Shrek 2 director), will jointly direct the upcoming movie. Notably, Vernon also served as head of story and voiced both the Gingerbread Man and Rumpelstilskin in previous installments.

Watch the cast announcement above. Shrek 5 hits theaters December 23, 2026.
