Adult Swim has unveiled the authentic Lazarus trailer for their upcoming sci-fi suspense anime on Toonami, produced by Shinichirō Watanabe, director of Cowboy Bebop. This series revolves around a team of agents on a mission to discover a cure for humanity, as they face the grim reality of a deadly side effect from a miraculous drug.
In this anime, we’ll hear David Matranga portraying Dr. Skinner, Jade Kelly as Hersh, Jack Stansbury taking on Axel, Luci Christian as Chris, Bryson Baugus voicing Leland, Jovan Jackson as Dough, Annie Wild as Elaina, and Sean Patrick Judge as Abel. The action scenes are being crafted by Chad Stahelski, the mastermind behind John Wick, while jazz saxophonist Kamasi Washington, musician Floating Points, and producer Bonobo contribute to the music score.

When is the Lazarus release date?
Lazarus is set to make its debut this coming Saturday, April 5th. You can catch it first on Adult Swim in the English language, and if you miss it, fresh episodes will be available the next day on Max. For our Japanese-speaking audience, episodes with English subtitles will start airing on Adult Swim and Max approximately one month after their initial English broadcast in the U.S. Lazarus is brought to you by Sola Entertainment, with Studio MAPPA handling the animation.
In the year 2052, the world was on the brink of unparalleled peace and tranquility. A remarkable drug named ‘Hapna’, created by renowned neuroscientist Dr. Skinner, played a significant role in this harmonious state. Hapna, universally available with no reported side effects, is believed to have liberated humanity from physical pain. However, mysteriously, Dr. Skinner vanished without a trace.
Three years from now, he resurfaces as a prophet causing widespread death and the collapse of civilization. A dangerous substance called Hapna, ingested by some even once, exhibits lethal effects retroactively after three years. With just thirty days left before humanity faces extinction, the only hope is to obtain the cure, which Skinner is the only one who knows about. First, we must locate him in order to save the world.
Lazarus comprises a quintet of specialists, hailing from diverse parts of the globe, united with a mission in mind. Is it possible for them to rescue mankind? Meanwhile, one may ponder over Skinner’s ultimate objective.
