Monster Hunter Wilds Map and Pop-up Camp Guide

In Monster Hunter Wilds, the maps are extensive and require thorough exploration before additional campsites can be established for resting and replenishing supplies. Our guide provides comprehensive maps of each region, as well as locations where you can establish new temporary campsites denoted by pop-ups.

Pop-up Camps

In each map, you can establish instant travel locations using temporary pop-up camps. These camps offer all the amenities available at your base camp’s tent, but remember, they have some unique considerations:

1. They are temporary and not permanent structures.
2. They must be set up thoughtfully as they consume resources.
3. Be mindful of their placement as they may affect gameplay strategies.

To start with, you can establish temporary camps at designated spots, identified by glowing green fireflies. The game will subtly guide your focus towards those spots as you approach them.

In Monster Hunter World, camps outside your main base may be damaged by roaming monsters. These camps can either repair naturally over time or be repaired using Guild Points. By interacting with the camp manager in Windward Plains or helper NPCs in other regions, you can access a list of all discovered camp locations and even repair them from afar. Additionally, there’s a warning system to indicate how hazardous a particular area is.

  • Safe: Will never be destroyed. Used for camps in areas monsters can never reach.
  • Insecure: Areas that are somewhat out of the way of monsters, but will likely be destroyed every now and then.
  • Dangerous: Will nearly always be destroyed. Usually placed next to key monster spawns or main passthrough areas (such as the tutorial one in Scarlet Forest.)

Inaccessible ruins of camps can’t be quickly teleported to, and they are included in the maximum number of temporary camps permitted within that region.

Changing Time

As you depart from Low Rank, regions undergo a recurring pattern of Abundance, Harvest, and Mildness. This cyclical transformation affects the overall look of these areas, as well as influences the characteristics of specific fish and native species.

Looking at the map and accessing the environment overview will display the current time and status. To alter this information or reset all surrounding elements, simply find a camp, navigate to the BBQ Menu, and select ‘Rest’.

Generally speaking, the ideal period for discovering native species and fish is Plentiful, whereas Inhospitable conditions provide a challenge when confronting top-tier monsters.

Investigations

While navigating the maps within Monster Hunter Wilds, you encounter wandering giant beasts for additional resources. In the higher rank, you have the option to log these creatures as investigations, enabling you to engage in battle with them an extra 3 times simply by interacting with Alma.

Following this method, you can earn bonus rewards repeatedly; even gold crowns won’t make the monster grow larger. This approach is ideal for farming scarce resources such as gems or Artian weapon parts.

After the game ends, you might find an opportunity to design quests involving several monsters. These quests provide greater bonus rewards and make material farming easier.

Maps

As a die-hard fan of Monster Hunter World, I stumbled upon these detailed maps showcasing every nook and cranny of the game’s various zones. These maps are dotted with potential spots for setting up temporary pop-up camps. Keep in mind that you can only set a limited number of camps at one time, but this limit increases once you’ve conquered the High Rank storyline.
