Showrunner Rafe Judkins on The Wheel of Time’s future

In a recent interview, Judkins hinted at the potential length of The Wheel of Time series, suggesting that it won’t conclude its story with the third season. He promised fans that when the time is right, they will strive to provide an ending fitting for the series. Currently, Amazon MGM Studios has not announced a decision on a fourth season renewal.

He mentioned that there are iterations of the show spanning six to seven seasons, but what makes the series exceptional is its length. This is part of what draws people to the books, and it sets it apart in this regard. However, he remains pragmatic. He acknowledges that if people were to ask for a fulfilling conclusion in season 4 because long-running shows are less common these days, everyone would likely be content.

He went on to explain, “In truth, the property isn’t suited for what you have in mind. However, my role is to do whatever it takes to bring it to its conclusion and deliver Jordan’s ending, as it carries such a strong impact. It truly wraps up things effectively. If we can’t achieve this, I am responsible for ensuring that the story told thus far remains exceptional.
