Boost your chances of surviving battles in Monster Hunter Wilds by mastering the technique to acquire Armor Spheres for your hunter character.
In Monster Hunter Worlds, Armor Spheres can prove incredibly beneficial if you prefer a more defensive, tank-like playstyle and tend to absorb a lot of damage from enemy attacks. However, even if your typical approach is different and you prioritize skills over defense, these spheres can compensate for that. Given their adaptability, let’s explore how to get them and effectively utilize them during monster hunting expeditions.
In this game, every armor part can be fortified with Armor Spheres. This enhancement increases your defensive capabilities for extra shielding. But, you don’t get these Armor Spheres immediately; instead, you need to work hard to acquire them by earning them.
The primary way to acquire Armor Spheres is through completing a quest, and upon its completion, you’ll often find Armor Spheres among your hunt rewards. Alternatively, you can obtain them by trading with Gawdygog using Wyvern Coins, or by smelting at the Everforge once it becomes accessible.
Initially, you’ll start with the most basic levels of orbs. As time progresses, they will advance into higher ranks, providing additional points for upgrading your armor. Here’s how it works:
1. Entry-level orbs (these are your starting orbs)
2. Intermediate orbs (as you progress, these orbs become available)
3. Advanced orbs (higher in rank than intermediate ones)
4. Expert orbs (the most advanced level of orbs available to you)
Each upgrade point earned from these orbs contributes towards increasing your armor’s upgrade level.
- Armor Sphere: 10 points
- Armor Sphere+: 25 points
- Advanced Armor Sphere: 200 points
- Hard Armor Sphere: 1000 points
- Heavy Armor Sphere: 5000 points
Obtaining Armor Spheres through quests and trading is quite straightforward. But, initially smelting might seem a bit intricate. Here’s how you can accomplish it at the Everforge.
Smelting Armor Spheres in Monster Hunter Wilds
In Azuz, known as Everforge, the smelting zone can be accessed only after defeating the Black Flame, which lies between Chapters 2-4. Once opened, you’re free to melt the Armor Spheres. The Oilwell Basin base camp serves as the quickest travel point to reach this foundry. Here’s a guide on how to melt Armor Spheres:
– Defeat the Black Flame between Chapters 2-4 to unlock the smelting zone in Azuz.
– After unlocking, you can start melting the Armor Spheres.
– The Oilwell Basin base camp is your fastest travel point to reach this foundry.
– Follow these steps to melt Armor Spheres:
* Locate the smelting zone in Azuz (Everforge).
* Insert the Armor Spheres into the smelter.
* Wait for the spheres to melt and become usable armor.
- Head to the forge and speak to Roqul there
- Go to the Smelt Armor Spheres menu
- Select the Armor Sphere available
- Use spare monster parts until you have enough points to smelt
Using Armor Spheres in Monster Hunter Wilds
After obtaining the Armor Spheres, make sure to chat with Gemma first. Then, navigate to the Forge or Upgrade Armor menu. Next, choose a piece of equipment that has already been crafted and opt for an upgrade. A new interface should emerge, displaying all the Armor Spheres you can use and the current level as well as points required to elevate your chosen gear to the next level.
For armor of greater rarity, it takes a larger amount of points to increase its level. Each armor piece has the potential for up to 13 levels of reinforcement. Yet, as better gear is acquired, the number of reinforcement levels decreases. Additionally, you’ll find that higher rarity gear will cost more money to upgrade. When an armor piece reaches its maximum level, no further armor spheres can be added to it.
