In Monster Hunter Wilds, your Hunter embarks on an adventure to uncover the source of attacks by a ferocious beast named the White Wraith. While exploring the Forbidden Lands, you’ll encounter numerous new and formidable creatures to hunt, but be prepared to encounter familiar enemies from days gone by as well.
In the Monster Hunter series, the formidable foe Gravios returns to the Oilwell Basin, a place where its robust shell endures the intense heat. Here’s everything you should be aware of regarding its return.

Gravios has a fragile stomach, head, and back, but its back can be challenging to reach and its head might be tricky to strike accurately. Therefore, the best target is its belly. However, although the other parts are breakable, they’re difficult to hit without the ball bouncing off, so keep your Partbreaker skill handy if you want to collect from it.
In terms of basic combat, focus on using Water, Ice, and Dragon-style weapons, as they deal the most damage. Conversely, avoid Fire-based tools, as they won’t be effective at all. Regarding the type of damage, whether it’s Slashing, Bludgeoning, or Piercing, any weapon should suffice for this battle.

Note that while we suggest maximally upgraded weapons for our recommendations, keep in mind that any level or stage of these weapons’ lines will still be effective.
To deal maximum damage on the offensive side, focus on acquiring Ice, Water, and Dragon-type weapons as they exploit the elemental vulnerabilities of your enemy. Weapons like Hirabami, Xu Wu, and Guardian Ebony Odogaron’s weapons should be more than effective; keep in mind that any type of damage inflicted on this monster will prove beneficial, so you’re not limited to our suggested examples.
In terms of your protective gear, consider donning either the Ajarakan or Rathalos armor ensembles as they offer good Fire resistance. Alternatively, the Yian Kut-ku armor might be beneficial for you if you’re looking to tackle more manageable combat encounters.
Gravios – Fight Breakdown And Moves

Gravios is a tough beast, and truly, its stony hide is so strong that your weapons may rebound off it until they’re at their sharpest (White-level). To inflict greater harm, consider targeting its underside, which is relatively weaker, or persist with blunt weapons, as these might find it easier to penetrate its tough skin, making it simpler to land successful strikes.
This fearsome creature unleashes clouds containing Fire and Sleep particles, making you highly susceptible to attack, potentially leading to devastating consequences such as death. To counteract this, utilize abilities or items that nullify ailments. Additionally, be wary of the Gravios’ speed and charging attacks: it can charge towards you at an alarming pace and fire a powerful beam of Fire-element damage, which could prove fatal.
Frequently strike at its midsection when necessary, but avoid direct confrontation if you can; maintain awareness of your resistance to elements and diseases to ensure your safety throughout the encounter.
Gravios – Drops And Materials

Gravios can only be fought in High-Rank difficulty, and it can drop the following materials:
