In the game titled Monster Hunter Wilds, you’ll find all the elements that dedicated Monster Hunter enthusiasts cherish: treacherous beasts, potent weaponry, stunning armor sets, and breathtaking landscapes ripe for exploration. However, what might stand out most to different players is the charming pet pig who never fails to bring a smile to your face.

If there were any questions about whether Poogie would be back in Monster Hunter Wilds, don’t worry. Your beloved pig companion is thriving in the Forbidden Lands – all you need is a keen eye to spot him. This guide covers everything essential about Poogie in Monster Hunter Wilds.

Who Is Poogie?

In simpler terms, Poogie is a small pig with a large personality who has made an appearance in most Monster Hunter games so far. Over time, this chubby character has taken on various roles, from being just a decoration to featuring in mini-games, and even joining you in hunt quests for Monster Hunter Frontier. Regardless of whether Poogie reciprocates the affection or not, everyone seems to adore him!

Some individuals think that stroking Poogie might make it easier to obtain hard-to-find monster components. However, whether this action truly boosts your chances is uncertain; yet, there’s no harm in giving it a shot!

Fortunately, our beloved character, Poogie, who was conspicuously absent from the last MonHun game, Monster Hunter Rise, adorning rooms instead as a decorative trophy, is making a comeback in Monster Hunter Wilds. Fans are undoubtedly thrilled to see this little guy back!

Is Poogie In Monster Hunter Wilds?

For a newcomer, it might take several hours into the game before encountering Poogie. You’ll find this divine swine at Suja, Peaks of Accord, which is home to the Allhearken. You’ll reach there in Chapter 3-3: Through the Dusk, a winding base camp where you’ll meet Vio the Melder and learn about the art of decoration melding for the first time.

Poogie likes to hang out in different places around Suja, depending on the time of day.

  • In the morning and afternoon you can usually find Poogie wandering around the south end of camp near Vio.
  • When Poogie wants to take a nap, he’ll head to the north end where Tetsuzan is resting.

If you’re struggling to find that elusive Truffle Tike, give a quick glance at the mini-map and search for the tiny pig icon instead. That should lead you right to it!

What Does Poogie Do?

Interacting with Poogie provides you with two possibilities: to stroke him or to rechristen him. You are free to choose a new name for him, provided it has fewer than 15 characters and does not contain any offensive or inappropriate content.

In this game, by stroking or patting the small pig character known as Poogie, you can engage in a mini-game and potentially win an item. When you opt to interact with him, your character will lower to caress his face. Once you notice a pink exclamation point floating above Poogie’s head, press the pet button again promptly.

When you make Poogie jump, hearts will appear around him, and you’ll receive a surprise prize. Keep in mind that repeatedly patting Poogie won’t yield more prizes, but you can occasionally visit Suja before each hunt for another pat on the head with Poogie.

If you don’t press the pet button at the correct moment, Poogie might become irritated, push your character down, and depart from the area. Note that he won’t reappear unless you travel to a different region and then return to Suja. Upon your return, you can give the mini-game another try.
