Actor Alec Baldwin, famously known for his role in Beetlejuice, responded sharply to a Donald Trump impersonator named Jason Scoop following some disruptive comments about the Rust movie controversy. In a video that quickly became popular online, Scoop is seen quizzing Baldwin about an incident where he accidentally discharged a loaded gun on set of Rust, leading to a crew member’s death. Initially maintaining his composure, Baldwin eventually responded fiercely to the comedian and even threatened him with a series of strong remarks.
What happened to Alec Baldwin and Jason Scoop?
On a Monday, Jason Scoop publicly posted about his encounter with an Academy Award-nominated actor. Adopting the role of Donald Trump’s impersonator, he engaged Alec Baldwin outside of his residence in New York City, where the latter was offloading luggage from his vehicle.
In a playful jab at Alec Baldwin’s portrayal of the 47th U.S. President on Saturday Night Live, Scoop put on a blue suit and blonde wig in an Instagram video he shared. He humorously suggested that he would grant Baldwin a pardon for his involvement in the Rust shooting incident. “Hey Alec, I’ll offer you a full pardon because I want to be friends, right? I wanna be friends. I will give you a full pardon for murdering that woman if you kiss my ring,” Scoop said jokingly.
In his role as a Trump mimic, the comedian went on to say, “Check out Alec Baldwin, he imitated me. It wasn’t scorching hot or perfect, but here we are back in power. You guys [the Democrats] lost. Kamala Harris seems to be celebrating with a drink somewhere.

When Baldwin remained unfazed, Scoop brought up the Rust incident a second time, commenting, “Alec, if you don’t appreciate that pardon for cold-blooded murder – you can label it first-degree or anything else, but it wasn’t right. She’s watching me from above now, smiling, content. ‘Thank you for standing up to the man who ended my life,’ she might say.
Alec Baldwin appeared to become very upset when he confronted the person impersonating Donald Trump for a skit. He sternly told Scoop, “Gaze at me,” as if to demand his attention. Baldwin then expressed his anger towards the comedian, saying, “Do you see that camera here? You understand my kids live in this building, but let me tell you something. Be very cautious. If this camera wasn’t present, I would have broken your neck and possibly killed you right here.
Following Jason Scoop being requested to leave, the 66-year-old actor eventually chose to part ways with the internet personality. Unfortunately, during a filming of Rust in 2021, Baldwin mistakenly took cinematographer Halyna Hutchins’ life when he discharged a loaded gun, thinking it was just a prop. Subsequently charged with involuntary manslaughter, this prominent figure from Hollywood’s world had his case dismissed in July 2024.
