Tovino Thomas spills beans on his crucial scene with Mohanlal in L2: Empuraan; ‘What I felt when I finished…’

The critically-adored 2019 movie “Lucifer,” which left us spellbound, is gearing up for an even more captivating comeback under the title L2: Empuraan. This masterpiece, skillfully directed by the talented Prithviraj Sukumaran, has already been officially announced and is aiming for a grand premiere on March 27, 2025. I can hardly wait to witness the magic unfold once again!

Lately, Tovino Thomas, the actor returning to his significant character from the initial film, has disclosed some significant details about the upcoming sequel.

In a behind-the-scenes video posted by the producers, Tovino discusses returning to portray Jithin Ramdas from Lucifer once more in L2: Empuraan. He also hinted at an important confrontation between his character and the main actor, Mohanlal, in this sequel.

Speaking with enthusiasm, he expressed, “In ‘Lucifer,’ I didn’t share a combined scene with Lalettan. However, in ‘Empuraan,’ we do have such a scene, and I believe it’s where I delivered my finest performance in this film. This is how I felt after completing the dubbing for the movie. It’s only natural that performing alongside exceptional actors brings out the best in you, and this interaction alone can significantly enhance your character.

In the conversation that followed, Identity Star discussed returning to the same character from the initial release. He shared that while there were fewer opportunities for him to appear, he was thrilled with the captivating storyline the authors crafted for his character.

As a committed admirer, I expressed my sheer joy at being roped into the Lucifer project, eagerly anticipating the revelation of the intriguing plot lines surrounding my character, Jithin – a political leader’s son who harbors little enthusiasm for politics.

As the narrative unfolds, I find myself stepping into the political arena, eventually earning the title of Chief Minister as my journey reaches its climax.

As a devoted fan, I found myself eager to discover more about that intriguing character. Once I uncovered the plotline of Empuraan and grasped how my own character would unfold, my initial curiosity intensified as his character journey veered off in an entirely unprecedented direction. This unexpected turn only fueled my anticipation, and as I delved deeper into Empuraan’s narrative, I realized that the story arc was set to span even broader horizons.

Returning to Empuraan, this movie was penned by Murali Gopy and co-financed by Mohanlal’s Aashirvad Cinemas and Lyca Productions.

Apart from being its director, Prithviraj Sukumaran will also take on a significant character – that of Zayed Masood – in this upcoming Malayalam action-thriller. The movie’s score is skillfully crafted by Deepak Dev.
