In a recent chat, she expressed her annoyance at the escalating back-and-forth, urging both sides to resolve their public spat amicably. Previously, Handler had playfully commented on the dispute during an award ceremony.

Chelsea Handler has again waded into the ongoing legal disagreement between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni, advising them to call off the theatrics and find a resolution.

In an interview with Page Six, the comedian voiced her disapproval about both parties escalating the controversy. Handler expressed, “The constant release of new information is what’s keeping this a whirlwind. Just stop it already! You’re only making things worse for yourselves.” Further elaborating, she likened the legal dispute between Baldoni and Lively to a typical schoolyard brawl, stating, “It seems like they should know better by now. Isn’t someone telling them to halt this nonsense?

On the occasion of the 2025 Critics Choice Awards held on February 7, Handler once again poked fun at the ongoing situation. In a witty remark, she thankfully acknowledged Lively and Baldoni for offering a diversion during challenging periods. Moreover, she implied that irrespective of which camp one was in, it seemed improbable that a sequel would materialize. Handler concluded by suggesting that everyone in the room, regardless of their stance, could concur on this point.

The conflict between Lively and Baldoni started in December over allegations of sexual harassment and retaliation in the workplace. In response, Baldoni filed a lawsuit in January, charging defamation and extortion against Lively, her husband Ryan Reynolds, and their publicist. Neither party agreed to mediation, leading to a trial scheduled for March 2026.
