What is the Marcie’s about?

Marcie Wood’s long-held aspiration is on the verge of fulfillment: in a short while, she will be the proprietor of Ed’s Tavern, where she acts as both bartender and guardian to a closely bonded group of regular patrons. With only a few more payments outstanding, she envisions not only managing the tavern but also starting a family with her partner, Murph. She calls upon her friend Russell, an emerging comedian, to organize open mic nights, and Sophie, a rising political strategist, to create social media hype. This summary provides a glimpse into Marcie’s story.

However, the arrival of newcomers poses a risk to Marcie’s cherished vision. Jake, a real estate developer, intends to purchase the land for constructing an e-commerce warehouse. Meanwhile, Megan, a wildlife enthusiast, is monitoring an endangered owl residing on the property. As the situation becomes more critical and her dreams are at risk, Marcie mobilizes an unconventional group of friends, birdwatchers, and residents to resist the influence of corporate interests and safeguard the soul of their community.
