Destiny 2 Heresy Leak: Exciting New Boss Rush Mode Revealed!

So far, Destiny 2 Episode Heresy Act 1 has been quite enjoyable. Players have been acquiring “previously unavailable” weapons, and Bungie has also announced that they won’t be addressing a significant game-altering bug due to its widespread appeal within the Destiny 2 community. Although Act 1 has been excellent, Acts 2 and 3 are on the horizon. Interestingly, a leak from Destiny 2 Heresy has surfaced, shedding light on details about an upcoming fun new mode that bears a striking resemblance to Destiny 1.

Destiny 2 Heresy leak reveals new boss rush mode

Earlier, we shared news about a rumor hinting at a boss rush mode for Destiny 2: Episode Heresy. Now, this speculation has been backed up with more information from BungieLeaks. It appears that this boss rush mode will share many similarities, if not be identical, to the Court of Oryx from Destiny 1.

As a gamer diving into this new adventure, I’ve learned from the BungieLeaks that we’re facing a thrilling boss rush mode. What makes it even more challenging is the inclusion of preparation phases between each encounter. The difficulty level of the combatants ramps up after every other preparation phase, pushing us to our limits and beyond.

Our journey begins at the Hall of Souls, where we spawn ready for battle. There’s a Taken Altar that grants us the power to choose our Taken Path (Resolve or Ambition), offering us a strategic edge in the game. We can also enhance our rune empowerment by collecting Sigil Stones, which provide additional strength and abilities.

It’s mentioned that there are three tiers (levels) for Runes, labeled as Tier I, II, and III. These Runes can be used to purchase the items listed below.

  • Boons (Minor, Major, and Corrupted)
  • Buffs/Perks (most are all new, here’s one: “Refills ability energy and ammo reserves. Triggers before every second encounter.“)
  • Tactical Advantages (Vanguard Turrets, Taken Portals, Transcendent Pools, Rally Buffs, etc.)
  • Relic Weapons (Hive Sword, Solar Scythe, Synaptic Spear, and a Void Coalescence)

BungieLeaks has also shared a list of augments with educated guesses about their abilities:

about:blank

  • Adapt: Counter a challenger’s regenerating shield by matching its elemental type.
  • Banish: Defeat Casters quickly to prevent banishment. . . or fight your way back to reality.
  • Bound: Challengers gain immunity when together. Entering a ceremonial ring will draw one away.
  • Bulwark: Avoid standing on Taken stains, which cloak challengers in immunity.
  • Burst: Eruptions of Taken energy burst from surfaces.
  • Descend: Damage falling blights before they descend fully. . . or suffer consequences.
  • Miasma: Rifts periodically emit flares of blinding Darkness.
  • Might: Destroy small blights to reveal a Protector whose Taken Essence can damage the main blight.
  • Ritual: Being near allies will initiate a Taken Purge. Find safety in separation.
  • Rune Charge: Locate the matching Rune symbol to pierce a challenger’s immunity.
  • Sharpen: Confront immune Bladebearers to obtain Swords that strip a challenger’s protection.
  • Swarm: Defend against swarming foes.
  • Wrath: Confront mighty Wrathborn soldiers.

To sum up, while BungieLeaks suggests that the boss rush mode might debut in Act 2, it’s also plausible that it could appear in Act 3. This is due to the fact that there are three different variants (Blood of Oryx, Lucent Brood, and Wrathborn) and Act II spans only over a period of three weeks.

At the moment, we’re looking forward to Episode Heresy Act 2 being released on March 11th, followed by Act 3 on April Fool’s Day. The entire Heresy series is set to conclude on July 15th.

As an avid Destiny 2 enthusiast, I’m thrilled about the latest leaks suggesting a new weapon that’s so powerful, it seems almost unfair to use – like having an edge that feels like cheating! Additionally, I can’t help but follow the recent developments as Sony addresses a hefty $200 million lawsuit filed by Destiny 2’s former director. It’s an intriguing turn of events in the gaming world.
