Activision is teasing a new Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater game & Iron Galaxy might be developing it

As a die-hard fan, I was starting to worry that the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater journey might come to an end when Vicarious Visions merged with Activision’s other studios. But rumors of a new game in the series kept circulating, and now, a countdown website hints at its imminent reveal! It’s even more exciting because it seems like Iron Galaxy, developers of Killer Instinct and Rumbleverse, might be the ones crafting this next chapter in our favorite skateboarding franchise.

This week, Activision unveiled the website for the upcoming Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater game. A countdown clock on the site ticks down to 8 a.m. Pacific Time / 11 a.m. Eastern Time on March 4, 2024. Moreover, Iron Galaxy is noticeably featured at the bottom of the page, suggesting that they are contributing to whatever’s being planned.

Approximately four years have passed since Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 was released, garnering an exceptional review score from Shacknews and numerous other accolades throughout the year. Given its success, it seemed likely that Activision would entrust Vicarious Visions with remaking Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 and 4. However, this didn’t occur at the time as Vicarious Visions was dismantled in 2022 and merged into other Activision studios to aid with the Diablo and Call of Duty series. Interestingly, it’s worth noting that the potential reveal is scheduled for March 4 (3/4), but we should avoid excessive speculation.

Despite the previous challenges, it seems that the Tony Hawk series still has a promising future. Activision is planning to reveal something new for the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater series in early March. Keep an eye out for more information and updates about the Tony Hawk franchise right here on Shacknews.
