Marvel’s Nova TV Show Reportedly Not Dead, Possible Star Revealed

The Marvel Nova series may not be dead yet.

Back in March 2024, Marvel Studios’ executive Brad Winderbaum disclosed that a highly anticipated Nova venture was only just beginning to take shape. Later on, in December 2024, it surfaced that Edward Allen Bernero had been appointed as the writer and showrunner for the MCU’s Nova series.

This past week, Deadline announced that work on Nova had been temporarily halted because it was no longer considered a top priority by the studio.

According to the article, it was emphasized to Deadline that these projects were not formally approved, but could potentially happen in the future. The studio is merely focusing on other matters for now.

What is the most recent update on Marvel’s Nova series?

According to Jeff Sneider’s latest report, it seems that the Nova project is expected to move forward at some stage in the future.

According to Sneider’s report, it appears that the Nova series by Ed Bernero will probably take place next year, although it’s not set in stone just yet.

According to reports, it’s speculated that Brandon Sklenar may take on the lead role in the upcoming show, as he has reportedly been considering the part of Richard Rider for quite a while now.

Back in early October, I mentioned during a chat with The Playlist that there might have been plans for me to sit down with Marvel Studios or Marvel Television, possibly even with the legendary Kevin Feige. If it happens, I’d sure be thrilled!

In 2022, Sklenar gained recognition for his role as Brent in Emily the Criminal, and in 2024, he portrayed Atlas Corrigan in It Ends with Us. More recently, he played Billy in Green and Gold (2025). Upcoming projects include Henry in Blumhouse Productions’ Drop film. He also stars as Spencer Dutton in 1923, and has been featured on New Girl, Westworld, Walker: Independence, and various other shows.

At present, Marvel Studios hasn’t made any formal declarations or confirmations about the Nova series yet.
