A fresh update from THR provides additional insights into the persistent disagreements between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni. The focus of this latest revelation is that Lively allegedly threatened to withdraw from It Ends With Us unless specific requirements were fulfilled.
In the recently published analysis, Peter Kiefer highlights that tension between Lively and Baldoni was not uncommon, escalating significantly six months prior to the WGA strike, ultimately leading to a halt in the project’s filming.
The report states that an “all-inclusive” gathering was arranged among executives at Wayfarer Studios, Sony, Lively, and her husband Ryan Reynolds, specifically Ryan Reynolds. During this meeting, it’s been suggested that Lively expressed her intention to abandon the movie if Baldoni and Wayfarer’s producing partner Jamey Heath didn’t meet certain terms. These conditions, as detailed in the report, are described as a “comprehensive list of 30 requests,” with the primary focus being on improving the chaotic working environment on the film set.
Did Justin Baldoni agree to all of Blake Lively’s demands?
The report suggests that Lively’s specific requests were not clearly defined, yet both Baldoni and Heath agreed to them. However, sources connected to the director claim that this decision might have been a misstep, possibly exacerbating other problems further.
The source remarked, “It was a mistake for him to approve that.” However, upon closer examination, the statement does not promise to cease all activities. Instead, it simply states, “I will not do this.” There’s a significant distinction between the two.
Lively’s initial complaint alleges that Baldoni created a hostile work environment
Back in December, I lodged a formal complaint against Baldoni due to some issues we faced during the filming of “It Ends With Us”. I alleged that the atmosphere on set became hostile, prompting an emergency meeting where I expressed my concerns. During this meeting, I requested that Baldoni cease sharing explicit videos or images of women, stop discussing his history with pornography, avoid talking about sexual experiences in front of me, and furthermore, to refrain from comments regarding my weight.
The dispute further alleges that Wayfarer Studios and the cast reached an understanding where the promotion of the movie would emphasize Lively’s character’s strength and resilience rather than labeling it as a tale about domestic violence. However, Lively contends that Baldoni deviated from this agreement by highlighting the film’s serious content in his interviews instead.
According to Lively’s statement, it was alleged that Baldoni and his public relations manager, Melissa Nathan, brainstormed strategies for a social media smear campaign intended to damage her reputation. The documents submitted by Lively contain approximately 22 pages of text exchanges between Baldoni’s PR representative and Nathan, where they express their desire to see Lively “discredited.
