John Wick Co-Director David Leitch To Direct Action Heist Movie

David Leitch, a co-director on the John Wick films, is now working on an unnamed action-heist project with Amazon MGM Studios. Leitch himself will be taking charge as director from a screenplay penned by Mark Bianculli, who’s known for Lincoln Rhyme: Hunt for the Bone Collector.

Following his work on Deadpool 2, the filmmaker previously helmed Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt in last year’s action comedy The Fall Guy, a loose adaptation of the ’80s TV series. He also recently produced Love Hurts for Universal Pictures, marking Oscar winner Ke Huy Quan’s debut as the main lead. Apart from an unnamed heist project, Leitch is currently linked to direct Andrew Garfield in Hot Air, an upcoming miniseries. Additionally, there are talks that Leitch may take on Warner Bros.’ Ocean’s 14.

Who else is involved in John Wick co-director David Leitch’s heist movie?

The movie about the unnamed heist, which is in production, will be overseen by Leitch and Kelly McCormick under their 87North banner. Additionally, Brian Grazer, Jeb Brody, and Allan Mandelbaum from Imagine Entertainment are also involved as producers. Bianculli, who’s serving as an executive producer, and Imagine have been working on this project for roughly ten years.

According to reports, the plot centers on a band of clever bank robbers who employ social media to chronicle their robberies, engaging in a game of hide-and-seek with law enforcement. Currently, there are no actors assigned to the project, and no definite release date has been set.
