It’s been quite enjoyable playing Destiny 2 Episode Heresy so far. Lately, Bungie has confirmed unexpected boosts that weren’t listed in the patch notes, and players have also been acquiring “off-the-record” weapons. Now, Destiny 2 enthusiasts have stumbled upon an unforeseen aspect of the game, and instead of acting as the “fun police,” Bungie has chosen to let the popular Destiny 2 glitch be.
Bungie confirms they are not fixing popular Destiny 2 bug
On the main Destiny forum (the Destiny subreddit), developers at Bungie have acknowledged they’ve identified an issue where certain Exotic Glaives and swords were accidentally taken away due to a bug.
Despite recognizing it as a glitch, Bungie has been pleased with the exciting reactions following its removal. Initially, they aimed to rectify the bug in order to preserve powerful class identities, finding it unusual to see Warlocks emitting mini-bubbles or Titans moving like ninjas.

After considering the community feedback, they’ve opted against resolving the bug. Now, Bungie views this as an entertaining demonstration of a bug evolving into a feature.
Below are highlighted observations from Bungie for the bug:
- Animations may look a bit weird given that the class-based Swords are a bit older, and this can create fun opportunities for players to create videos, art, or other based on classes in different stances.
- Class-based Glaives open up some interesting new buildcrafting opportunities. In the future, we will be keeping a close eye on how these Glaives are performing across all three classes. Our goal is to ensure that they feel most powerful on the class they were originally designed for.
- The core of the feedback for the Quickfang and Goldtusk Swords revolves around player fantasies of being a ninja or sword master, so we’re going to use this feedback to inspire future animations. No promises on timelines or anything like that, but this gives us some fun creative spaces to work with for Titans and Warlocks.

Due to Bungie’s failure to address the bug, there’s been an outpouring of admiration from players towards the developer. Many comments express their approval, calling it a “major triumph” or simply a “big win”.
Regarding Destiny 2 updates, recent leaks suggest the introduction of a powerful weapon that seems almost unfair to use, and Sony has commented on a $200 million lawsuit filed against them by the game’s former director.
