At the historic AEW Grand Slam Australia, I, Toni Storm, wrote my name in the record books by defeating Mariah May to claim the first-ever four-time AEW Women’s World Championship title. The electrifying event unfolded at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre, right here in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.
Eager for retribution against her ex-best friend, Mariah May who had deceived and outsmarted her last year at AEW All In to claim the AEW Women’s Championship, Storm decided to take action. Fans were surprised when she reappeared in AEW last December.
Instead of bringing back the familiar “Timeless” Toni Storm character that fans anticipated, she resurrected her classic rockstar persona instead. In this revamped role, Storm seemed to disregard her AEW background and appeared as if making a fresh debut. However, it turned out that Storm had been strategically planning ahead all along.
Following her AEW Grand Slam Australia title match against Mariah May, Toni Storm unequivocally demonstrated she hadn’t let anything slip her mind. She pledged retribution towards May and resurrected her “Timeless” Toni Storm persona. With this iconic character restored, Storm etched another chapter in the show’s history. In a swift roll-up pinfall, she regained the AEW Women’s World Championship.
Currently holding her fourth AEW Women’s World Championship title, Storm made an appearance on AEW Dynamite to mark the beginning of her fourth reign. She conveyed a firm statement to the entire women’s roster, leaving no room for doubt that she was prepared to face any contender.
Toni Storm puts AEW women’s division on notice after title win
In the recent episode of AEW Dynamite, the limelight once again shone on Toni Storm and her recently earned title. With Luther by her side, Storm made a spectacular entrance, causing the crowd to explode in a thunderous applause. Grabbing the microphone, Storm acknowledged her victory over Mariah May, using the term “sick rival” and announcing that May’s competition had come to an end permanently.
She left no room for misunderstanding: To excel as the top contender, she needed to compete against the very best. Consequently, Storm extended a public invitation to the AEW Women’s Division. Notably, the current AEW Women’s Champion explicitly named Willow Nightingale, Kris Statlander, and Wendi Richter as her prospective opponents.
As AEW Revolution approaches on March 9, 2025, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California, the big question remains: Who will take on “Timeless” Toni Storm in a challenge?
