In December 2024, Christopher Barrett, a former employee at Bungie, filed a lawsuit against the company following his termination earlier in the year. It was said that Barrett was let go by Destiny 2’s developer due to an HR investigation into allegations of misconduct. However, Barrett asserts that Bungie dismissed him to prevent him from receiving a $45 million payout he was owed. Bungie has since addressed the lawsuit and its contents, refuting Barrett’s claims and presenting evidence of correspondence between Barrett and his former colleagues.
This week, GameFile’s Stephen Totilo published a recent court filing from Sony and Bungie, where they stated that Barrett exhibited a recurring behavioral pattern in their document.
The document continues by detailing nine instances where Barrett communicated improperly with female colleagues from Bungie, including text messages, phone calls, and conversations.
As a passionate follower, I’m sharing my take on the legal dispute involving Christopher Barrett. He asserted that he was entitled to a $45 million settlement upon Sony’s purchase of Bungie. However, he alleged that the accusations against him were concocted as a strategy for the company to sidestep fulfilling this payment obligation.
