In a poignant turn of events, Puneeth Rajkumar, a beloved figure in the Kannada movie world, met his untimely demise in 2021. Affectionately called Appu, he was adored by fans for his gentle and caring demeanor. Not long ago, Dheeren R Rajkumar, grandson of the legendary Kannada actor Dr. Rajkumar and son of Ramkumar, posted an unreleased picture of the iconic star with Bollywood actor Aamir Khan on social media.
The photograph was captured on the filming locations of “3 Idiots” in Bengaluru back in 2009. In this image, Puneeth Rajkumar and Aamir Khan can be seen grinning while striking a pose casually dressed during an open-air shoot within the city.

It’s been mentioned that a Kannada adaptation of the movie “3 Idiots” was in the works, given its impressive box office performance. The role of Rancho in this remake was intended for Kannada cinema star, Puneeth Rajkumar. He seemed quite enthusiastic about portraying this character, and the project was predicted to draw a large following. With the growing fame of South Indian films, particularly after the successes like “Pushpa”, the movie had great anticipation.
Regrettably, Puneeth succumbed to a heart attack at the gym in 2021. He had been planning to portray his own character similar to Rancho for a Kannada remake, which was set to be produced by KRG Studios. The film was also anticipated to have an exceptional cast lineup.
