The Residence Trailer: Uzo Aduba Leads Netflix Whodunit Show From Shonda Rhimes

Netflix has unveiled a trailer for their forthcoming murder mystery comedy titled The Residence, featuring Emmy-winning actress Uzo Aduba (from Orange Is the New Black and Mrs. America). This intriguing series is set to premiere on March 20, 2025.

In this comedic murder mystery, there are 132 rooms, 157 suspects, and one corpse. The detective is quite peculiar. A State Dinner went terribly wrong, and the story unfolds within the White House’s upstairs, downstairs, and hidden corridors, among the diverse staff of this renowned residence.

Who is in The Residence trailer?

The video presents Aduba’s character as Detective Cordelia Cupp, a member of the Metropolitan Police Department, who takes charge of a prominent murder case concerning the president’s demise. Her persona is portrayed as keenly perceptive about human interactions, with an unusual and disquieting communication manner. The piece also brings attention to the possible suspects, encompassing White House guests and staff.

The Residence” was created by showrunner Paul William Davies, and executive produced by Shonda Rhimes (creator of How to Get Away with Murder) and Betsy Beers.
