The initial release date for Dead By Daylight’s Chapter 35 Public Test Build was scheduled for February 18th. However, Behaviour Interactive has announced that it will be postponed. As of yet, the identity of the licensed killer remains unknown. However, a recently found DBD Easter Egg might hint at potential leaks regarding the Chapter 35 killer.

Dead By Daylight Easter Egg possibly confirms Tokyo Ghoul killer

Rumors suggest that the upcoming Chapter 35 killer in Dead By Daylight could be Ken Kaneki from Tokyo Ghoul. However, this information is unconfirmed and hasn’t been verified on the DBDLeaks Discord. The rumor also hints at potential powers related to Octopus-like creatures.

This mysterious Easter Egg found in Dead By Daylight was first spotted by YouTube user Fricking Nick, hidden within Ormond Lake Mine map. To uncover this secret, you need to activate the exit gates which will then trigger an unusual message to broadcast over the radio from a room adjacent to the exit gates.

The audio appears somewhat unclear, but it sounds like it’s saying “ghouls” repeatedly. This has sparked discussions among fans that it might be hinting towards Tokyo Ghoul for Chapter 35. Nevertheless, there’s a chance it could be referring to another licensed IP with ghouls in it, or it may not have any connection to Chapter 35 at all.

One of the most popular responses on Reddit suggests that there could be another reference to “Tokyo Ghoul” in Chapter 35, as it mentions a movie titled ‘The Ghouls Lament’ in Greenville Square. This might be an Easter Egg since fans believe All Things Wicked has been subtly hinting at new chapters. This assumption arises due to the voice lines for The Unknown, which seem to reference Dungeons & Dragons (DnD), Tomb Raider, and The Houndmaster with phrases like “I’ve dwelled in ancient, hidden lairs”, “let’s embark on this journey” and “have you lost your pet?”.

In another interpretation, some dialogue from The Unknown might hint towards similarities with Tokyo Ghoul. A Reddit user suggested that the phrase “Hunger, unbearable hunger” could be a reference to how ghouls in Tokyo Ghoul can only consume human flesh and become violent if they’re too hungry. Additionally, there’s a voice line, “Tonight, the world is mine,” which bears resemblance to one of the theme song lyrics for Tokyo Ghoul: “Tonight I’ll have the world at my feet.

At present, Tokyo Ghoul is more like an unofficial sneak peek rather than a confirmed fact. It’d be exciting if it turns out to be Tokyo Ghoul given the potential links from the Ormond Lake Mine Easter Egg to the Unknown’s voice lines, but we’ll simply need to stay patient to discover the truth.
