The report emerges exactly two months following Jerry Bruckheimer’s disclosure that there were two distinct screenplays underway for the film. One script involves Johnny Depp’s return, while the other aims to steer the series along a fresh path.

According to The DisInsider’s report, they haven’t found enough reliable sources to confirm the details about Johnny Depp, which means they’re viewing it as more of a rumor rather than factual information for now.

It’s uncertain if Depp will rejoin the cast, but it seems doubtful that Orlando Bloom (William Turner) and Keira Knightley (Elizabeth Swann), who starred in the first three movies, will be back.
