Universal Pictures Home Entertainment has revealed the upcoming Blu-ray and DVD launch dates for the recently released animated comedy adventure from DreamWorks Animation, titled “Dog Man.” Since its premiere in cinemas on January 31st, this film has garnered an impressive Certified Fresh rating of 80% on Rotten Tomatoes.
In the movie’s official summary, it’s stated that a police dog and his officer partner get injured simultaneously during their duty, leading to an extraordinary surgery that merges them into one being, creating Dog Man. Sworn to protect, serve, and follow commands like fetch, sit, and roll over, he’s on a mission. As he adapts to his new role, he has to thwart the wicked plans of the feline supervillain, Petey the Cat. In Petey’s latest scheme, he intends to clone himself, producing Lil Petey, doubling his capacity for mischief and crime. However, things take an unexpected turn when Lil Petey establishes an unlikely friendship with Dog Man.
When is the Dog Man Blu-ray & DVD release date?
Beginning April 1, 2025, you’ll be able to buy Dog Man on Blu-ray or DVD after its digital debut. The film stars Lil Rel Howery as Chief, Pete Davidson as Petey the Cat, Isla Fisher as TV reporter Sarah Hatoff, Poppy Liu as Petey’s assistant Butler, Stephen Root as Grampa, Billy Boyd as Sarah’s cameraman Seamus, and Ricky Gervais as Flippy the fish.
The movie was helmed by Emmy-winning director Peter Hastak (of Animaniacs fame), adapting from Dav Pilkey’s collection of graphic novels with the same title. Production was handled by Karen Foster, who has previously worked on How to Train Your Dragon.
