Shakira Hospitalized for ‘Abdominal Issues’, Cancels Peru Concert

As a diehard fan, I was eagerly waiting for Shakira‘s concert in Peru. However, the excitement took an unexpected turn when the singer was admitted to the hospital. The news came from none other than Shakira herself on her social media platforms. Given doctor’s orders, she had to cancel one of her performances. Now, I, along with many other fans, am worried about our beloved artist’s health and wellbeing.

What happened to Shakira?

Shakira had to cancel her February 16th show in Peru because she was admitted to the hospital due to a stomach problem. This unexpected event occurred during her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran global tour, and she shared this update on her Instagram account. (This information is sourced from PEOPLE.)

Hey there, gaming community! I’ve got some unfortunate news to share. Last night, I had an unexpected visit to the ER due to an abdominal issue. As a result, I’m currently under medical care and can’t make it to today’s event as planned. I was so excited to meet you all here in Peru and perform for you again. I hope to be back soon, and I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Her initial concert set at Peru’s National Stadium marked the beginning of a double bill in Lima. Unfortunately, she had to postpone the first event, but she remains optimistic about performing at the second scheduled show on February 17th.

To those eagerly waiting for her performance, she reassured everyone that efforts are being made by her team and organizers to arrange a new date for the postponed concert. She didn’t disclose more about her health situation but expressed gratitude for her fans’ backing.

Shakira was admitted to the hospital not long after her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran tour kicked off in Rio de Janeiro on February 11. This tour follows a successful year for the singer, who recently received the award for Best Latin Pop Album at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards. The album, named Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran, was her first full-length release in seven years.
