Indeed, I find the class system in this game quite appealing, and it seems that Obsidian has adopted a similar structure across their other titles. The options you have for characters are Fighter, Ranger, or Wizard. Each of these classes offers distinct playstyles, encompassing unique abilities. As with any system, every class possesses its own set of advantages and disadvantages, so let’s examine how they compare to one another.

Avowed Class tier list

I’ve organized the three classes into two categories for evaluation. The highest category, referred to as ‘S-tier’, consists of the best classes currently offered in ‘Avowed’. The ‘A-tier’ classes, while not quite at the pinnacle, are still excellent choices and worth considering if you plan to use them, as they remain strong and capable.

S-tier classes in Avowed

In the game Avowed, the Fighter class stands out as the sole S-tier contender. Initially, it may seem that this class and its skills are straightforward, but don’t let that deceive you. The Fighter is not only suitable for newcomers, but also seasoned players, and when used correctly, its abilities can deliver a powerful blow.

I’m particularly fond of the Fighter class because its abilities are straightforward to utilize. At level 1, you get perks such as Constant Recovery and Toughness, making the initial stages less challenging. You can also acquire abilities like Devastating Criticals and Brawn by level 5.

With the Fighter character class, you’ll find yourself incredibly tough to eliminate while also possessing impressive offensive capabilities. At level 15, you’ll even have the ability to conjure up a formidable combat ally, much like having your own bear.

A-tier classes in Avowed

In the top-notch category, you’re given the choice between the spell-casting Wizard and the ranger-like combatant known as the Ranger. Personally, I found the Wizard class more appealing among the two, and it offers an exceptional offensive experience. However, its primary drawback lies in its defense, which is significantly weaker compared to other classes like the Fighter. Unlike a Fighter who has innate defensive abilities, a Wizard must heavily depend on dodging.

In summary, although it may have a vulnerable defense, the Wizard’s potent offensive capabilities are impressive, particularly since it provides the most variety in damage types. Conversely, the Ranger represents a more conventional choice.

Mastering the Ranger class can be quite challenging due to its reliance on landing skill shots to deal significant damage. To excel in this role, consider using the ‘Steady Aim’ ability at Level 1, followed by ‘Marksmanship’ at Level 5. These abilities will enhance your accuracy and enable you to inflict more damage from a greater distance, making it easier for you to dominate the battlefield.

It’s worth noting that certain skills can boost both your effectiveness and the damage output when using melee weapons. Personally, I recommend a versatile strategy if you’re choosing the Archer class. In the end, it’s crucial to strive for optimal builds tailored to your chosen classes in Avowed.
