Michael B. Jordan ‘Proud’ of Jonathan Majors After Conviction

In a recent chat, Michael B. Jordan, famous for his role as Black Panther, expressed backing towards his pal and ex-Marvel collaborator Jonathan Majors. This support comes after Majors’ conviction in a 2023 domestic violence trial that led to him being unable to continue playing Kang the Conqueror for Marvel Studios and seemingly stalling Majors’ progress in Hollywood. Now, nearly two years later, Jordan has publicly admired Majors for his “resilience” as he navigated personal challenges off-set.

Michael B. Jordan praises Jonathan Majors amid controversy

During an interview with GQ, Michael B. Jordan first congratulated Zendaya’s boyfriend, actor and activist John David Washington, on his recent engagement with actress Meghan Good. He then went on to praise Washington for his resilience in the face of his recent legal issues.

Speaking about the trial and conviction of Majors, Jordan expressed, “It was a challenging spectacle to witness, but he’s thriving! He recently got engaged, which is wonderful news. According to his interview with GQ, Jordan expressed his enthusiasm about collaborating with Jonathan Majors in a potential future project. When asked if he’d be open to working with Majors once more, Jordan replied with a definitive “Yes, yes!

In December 2023, Majors was judicially declared guilty for reckless assault in the third degree and harassment following a split verdict by the jury. As a result, he was required to participate in a domestic violence rehabilitation program. This incident led Marvel Studios to terminate Majors from his position as Kang the Conqueror, effectively ending plans that had him slated as the principal antagonist in an upcoming Avengers film.

In addition to praising Majors during a GQ interview, Michael B. Jordan also recently endorsed his friend’s upcoming film, Magazine Dreams. Last week, he posted the project’s trailer on his Instagram account. Originally scheduled for its premiere at Sundance in 2023, the movie will now be shown on March 21 of this year.
