This coming weekend marks the second open beta test for Monster Hunter Wilds, offering an extended opportunity for hunters. The extension is due to the PSN outage last weekend. Regardless if you participated in the first one back in November, it’s still beneficial to join now as you’ll receive some fresh rewards that will be applicable when the complete game launches.
Don’t worry if you missed out on the initial open beta test for the weapon pendant reward. By joining the second open beta when it becomes available, you’ll receive both sets of rewards! Here is the complete list of all the items up for grabs.
All Monster Hunter Wilds beta rewards
- Felyne weapon pendant (OBT 1 reward)
- Raw Meat x 10
- Shock Trap x 3
- Pitfall Trap x 3
- Tranq Bomb x 10
- Large Barrel Bomb x 3
- Armor Sphere x 5
- Flash Pod x 10
- Large Dung Pod x 10
As a gamer, let me tell you, those rewards are top-notch! To start with, you’ll be equipped to catch monsters right away using traps and tranq bombs. Catching is usually preferable, though some hunts necessitate killing, and certain materials have a higher probability of dropping when carving. Plus, the armor spheres will provide an excellent defensive boost!
How to obtain the beta rewards
It’s fortunate that claiming the rewards doesn’t necessitate any real hunting; instead, you simply need to complete the character creation process. Once your character data is generated during the beta, it will carry over to the main game if you choose to do so.
To ensure a smooth experience, it’s essential that you perform this action on the platform where you intend to play the entire game. As it appears you’re using a PC, please note that Monster Hunter World doesn’t support cross-save. This means you can’t participate in the beta on PS5 and then transfer the rewards to your PC, or do it the other way around.
Each reward can be claimed just once, meaning that if you’ve participated in all three betas, you’ll only obtain the rewards mentioned earlier – no repeats, I’m afraid!
The second Open Beta Test for Monster Hunter Wilds starts on February 13 at 7 PM Pacific Time (PT), which is equivalent to 10 PM Eastern Time (ET) and 3 AM Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). It continues until February 17 at 6:59 PM PT, or 9:59 PM ET, and concludes on February 18 at 2:59 AM GMT.
