Early Destiny 2 update 8.2.0.1 patch notes
The detailed breakdown of Destiny 2 update 8.2.0.1 will be disclosed around 9AM Pacific Time/12PM Eastern Time/5PM Greenwich Mean Time on February 13th. Below, you can find some elements that BungieHelp has already confirmed will undergo modifications:

- Dead Man’s Tale and The Last Word have been temporarily excluded from the hip fire range and accuracy bonus. We will revisit these weapons in a future patch to custom tune their bonuses so they can interact without being overly strong.
- The dodge refund amount has been reduced to 33% if you do not have a full dodge charge. It will still give an extra charge if it’s full when you get the kill. Extra charges are not retained on death or after use.
Destiny 2 update 8.2.0.1 maintenance schedule
The maintenance schedule for Destiny 2 update 8.2.0.1 on February 13th is as follows:
- Background maintenance starts: 6:30AM PT/9:30AM ET/2:30PM GMT
- Downtime starts: 7:45AM PT/10:45AM ET/3:45PM GMT
- Downtime ends: 9AM PT/12PM ET/5PM GMT
- Background maintenance ends: 11AM PT/2PM ET/7PM GMT
After a downtime that concludes at 9AM Pacific Time (or 12PM Eastern Time, or 5PM Greenwich Mean Time), the update will become accessible for download. At this point, Destiny 2 players can resume their online gaming, but please note there might be some difficulties in logging into the game until all maintenance procedures are completed in the background.
Fixes for future D2 updates
Below are fixes Bungie has confirmed they are looking into for future updates:
- Particle Reconstruction
- Rhulk’s Pyramid ship
Using the term “Particle Reconstruction”, Bungie has found that this process involves accumulating with specific weak energy sources and taking precedence over other sources. At present, they are preparing for a future update.
About Rhulk’s Pyramid ship, Bungie has found that Support Autos aren’t providing enough assistance in Sundered Doctrine. The team is “recognized of an issue where No Hesitation and Adamantite aren’t triggering their secondary effects (Restoration or Unraveling) during the Altered Convolution encounter.” They are currently working on a solution for a future update to address this problem.
In regards to Episode Heresy, recent leaks have revealed some new cutscenes as well as what appears to be a “boss rush” mode for Act 2. Furthermore, gameplay leaks have shed light on additional new weapons that are soon to be introduced, including the reappearance of a beloved Exotic weapon from D1.
