Blizzard recently unveiled a diagram detailing the upcoming modifications and new features in Overwatch 2, starting with Seasonal Updates. A significant overhaul is the introduction of Perks. Unique to each character, these Perks boost their current abilities and advantages. The developers have revealed the complete list of Perks, which are categorized as minor and major, and can be unlocked at levels 2 and 3 respectively. For instance, a Perk for Genji allows his Swift Strike to reset his double jump, while one for Ana temporarily slows enemies upon awakening from her Sleep Dart.

Previously, Blizzard tried reintroducing team battles with six players on each side, offering it as a standalone gameplay mode. In the upcoming Season 15, they plan to incorporate this 6v6 format as an option for their Competitive mode. The competitive 6v6 matches will have their own distinct rank, making them separate from other competitive playlists.

In the upcoming season for Overwatch 2, we’ll see the return of Loot Boxes, similar to those in the original Overwatch. These boxes offer a collection of random rewards to players as they advance through gameplay. This time, however, players will have an opportunity to obtain Loot Boxes by making progress on their Battle Pass.

To wrap things up, it’s been confirmed that Overwatch 2 will be adding two new characters to its team. The first one, named Freja, is equipped with a crossbow and is set to join the battle on February 12th. As for the second character, referred to as “Aqua” at the moment, we can expect him in Season 18 this fall. While details about Aqua are scarce, preliminary artwork suggests he’ll be wielding a spear and harnessing water-based abilities.

In Season 15, starting from February 18, you can expect the initial adjustments for Overwatch 2, such as reintroducing Loot Boxes and switching to a 6v6 format in Competitive play.
