Tony Denison and Mary McDonnell Team Up for Thrilling New Crime Drama ‘Trouble Man’!

In an exclusive scoop, it’s been announced that Tony Denison and Mary McDonnell, previously seen on The Closer, will take leading roles in the upcoming crime drama, Trouble Man. This new project marks their latest team-up, following their time together on Kyra Sedgwick’s police procedural series and its spin-off, Major Crimes, which both ran for several seasons.

What is the Trouble Man about?

In the vibrant settings of mid-century Palm Springs and bustling LA, I find myself immersed in a captivating tale. This story centers around a hitman nearing the end of his life, who compels a struggling movie producer to document his lethal secrets, all while the mafia, law enforcement, his loyal friend, and even his own daughter conspire to thwart him.

The screenplay for the film titled “Trouble Man” is penned by Denison and Jack Maxwell. Actress Stana Katic (“Castle”, “Absentia”, “CBGB”), Dan Lauria (“The Wonder Years”, “Reagan”), Mike Starr (“Goodfellas”, “Dumb and Dumber”), Joe Pacheco (“The Morning Show”) and Maxwell himself are among the cast members. The production is slated to commence later in 2021, with Trouble Man Productions, LLC overseeing it.

For quite a while, ‘Trouble Man’ has struck a chord with both Tony and myself,” stated Maxwell. “We can’t wait to bring this story to others.

Apart from The Closer and Major Crimes, Denison has also graced other crime dramas like Crime Story, Wiseguy, Criminal Minds, and Prison Break. His latest acting venture is playing Vic Callan in CBS’ legal drama series All Rise. On the other hand, McDonell gained fame from her Academy Award-nominated roles in Dances With Wolves (1990) and Passion Fish (1992). Recently, she portrayed Madeline Usher in Mike Flanagan’s Netflix horror miniseries The Fall of the House of Usher.
