According to “Daredevil: Born Again” showrunner Dario Scardapane, Matt Murdock simply cannot exist without Karen Page and Foggy Nelson. Previously, these characters were absent from Born Again before a creative revamp in October 2023. However, when Marvel appointed Scardapane as the showrunner, he made it a priority to reintroduce Matt’s most trusted companions.
In a recent interview with Empire, Scardapane stated, “That was among the initial things I shared with the bosses. It’s impossible to produce this show without Karen and Foggy. They are Matt’s family, the core of his world. If they’re removed, an authentic reason must be given, and if that reason isn’t convincing, they should not be removed.
Scardapane’s wish came true when Deborah Ann Woll and Elden Henson agreed to once again take on the roles of Karen Page and Foggy Nelson.

Scardapane firmly stated that he was ready to forfeit his job over this issue concerning Karen and Foggy’s repayment. He felt so strongly about it because the finale of Season 3 on Netflix had left a lingering question, symbolized by the names on the napkin. If they didn’t resolve that, it would leave their characters without proper development. Ignoring that dream was unacceptable to him.
Who is involved in Daredevil: Born Again?
Apart from Woll and Henson, the series Daredevil: Born Again features the comeback of Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock/Daredevil and Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin. Additionally, Margarita Levieva, Zabryna Guevara, Nikki James, Genneya Walton, Arty Froushan, Clark Johnson, Michael Gandolfini, Ayelet Zurer, and Jon Bernthal are among the stars of Born Again.
In New York City, Matt Murdock, a lawyer who is blind but has exceptional senses, works tirelessly for justice through his busy law firm. Meanwhile, Wilson Fisk, once a mob boss, now pursues political ambitions. However, as their hidden pasts surface, they are inexorably drawn towards a head-on collision.
As a devoted fan, I’m excited to share that the directors for Daredevil: Born Again include the talented duo Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead, alongside Michael Cuesta, Jeffrey Nachmanoff, and David Boyd. In addition, an impressive list of executive producers includes Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Brad Winderbaum, Sana Amanat, Chris Gary, Scardapane, Chris Ord, Matt Corman, and the dynamic team of Benson and Moorhead themselves!
Daredevil: Born Again premieres on March 4, 2025, on Disney+.
