Actors Naomi Ackie, Bill Nighy, Daniel Mays, and Bodhi Rae Breathnach have been cast for an upcoming action film featuring Jason Statham. This movie is currently unnamed and will start production in the UK and Ireland this week. Black Bear, an independent film studio known for Longlegs and Conclave, is behind this project.
Who is involved in the untitled Jason Statham action movie?
The upcoming, as-yet-unnamed action movie will be helmed by director Ric Roman Waugh, based on a screenplay initially penned by Ward Parry, with subsequent modifications by Parry and Christian Contreras. More information about the storyline and characters is being kept confidential for now, but it’s rumored that Jason Statham will portray an individual drawn back to confront the demons of his tumultuous past. In addition to starring in the film, Statham will also serve as a producer alongside John Friedberg (Black Bear), Brendon Boyea (Kandahar) for Cinemachine, and Jon Berg and Greg Silverman (Stampede Ventures) for Punch Palace Productions. The production is being overseen by Teddy Schwarzman and Michael Heimler (Black Bear).
Waugh is recognized for his frequent partnerships with Gerard Butler on action-thrillers such as Angel Has Fallen, Greenland, and Kandahar. His latest project is the upcoming disaster sequel Greenland: Migration, where Butler will also reprise his role. On the other hand, Statham’s recent film was 2024’s The Beekeeper directed by David Ayer. Apart from an unnamed movie, he will appear next in Ayer’s action-thriller titled A Working Man alongside Michael Pena and David Harbour, as well as the action-thriller Mutiny with Annabelle Wallis.
