What is Dreadnought about?
In the story titled Dreadnought, penned by Joseph Greenberg, we follow Max (portrayed by Bautista), a character who will go to extreme lengths to rescue his ailing daughter from extraterrestrial beings that have seized a significant portion of humanity. The plot synopsis, as provided by Deadline, goes like this:
Max Bautista lived in a world forever changed when an alien race accidentally landed on Earth, triggering a lethal pandemic that took his wife and many others. In the remnants of society, humans now share their existence with these aliens. However, for Max, mere survival is not sufficient.
Max’s eldest child, Greta, is gravely ill with a disease. As her strength wanes and she takes her last breaths, an alien entity known as a Sentinel hovers outside their home, inching closer day by day. This silent, relentless hunter intends to claim Greta’s body for a necessary transformation ritual. The authorities permit it, and society tolerates it. However, Max stands firm against any further losses.
Bautista, a former professional wrestler who gained fame in WWE, later transitioned into acting and has featured prominently in several critically-acclaimed films such as Blade Runner 2049, Final Score, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, Dune, and the upcoming sequel Dune: Part Two.
Apart from his other roles, this actor was likewise featured as Drax the Destroyer across multiple films within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This can be seen in all three Guardians of the Galaxy movies, as well as Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, and Thor: Love and Thunder.
Other details about Dreadnought remain under wraps.
