Steven Yeun & Kerry Washington Cast in Ben Affleck’s Netflix Thriller Movie Animals

Steven Yeun and Kerry Washington have joined the cast of Animals.

A Netflix thriller titled “Animals” is directed by Ben Affleck, who will also grace the screen as one of the main actors. The film also features Gillian Anderson.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, both Yeun and Washington have been added to the cast. In the storyline, Washington is set to portray Affleck’s character’s spouse, while Yeun takes on the role of a campaign manager.

In this suspenseful drama, a candidate for mayor and his spouse find themselves in a desperate situation when their child is taken. Facing numerous adversaries, both political and personal, they are forced to break the rules and use unconventional methods to retrieve their son.

What else do we know about Ben Affleck’s Animals movie?

Production for the new project involving animals is set to kick off in Los Angeles come April. The script has been penned by Connor McIntyre, with subsequent revisions made by Billy Ray.

In collaboration with Matt Damon, Dani Bernfeld, Brad Weston, and Collin Creighton, Affleck is part of the movie’s production team. Michael Joe, Kevin Halloran, and Lucy Damon function as executive producers, while Fifth Season, another production company, is both producing and serving as an executive producer for the film.

In the upcoming months, you’ll find Yeun on screen in Bong Joon-ho’s film Mickey 17, set to release in U.S. cinemas in March. He has also recently graced the big screen in Love Me and reprises his voice role as Mark Grayson for the new season of Invincible, available on Amazon Prime Video.

In the meantime, Washington portrays Charity Adams in Tyler Perry’s The Six Triple Eight, currently streaming on Netflix. Coming up next is her appearance in the third Knives Out movie, titled Wake Up Dead Man, slated for release around 2025.

Affleck’s upcoming film will be his sixth directorial project. Prior to this, he directed Gone Baby Gone (2007), The Town (2010), Argo (2012), Live By Night (2016), and Air (2023). However, it’s worth noting that he acted in all of these films except for Gone Baby Gone.

A release date for Animals has not yet been announced by Netflix.
