On his radio show KosoKoso Hōsō Kyoku last weekend, Horii spoke about the progress of Dragon Quest 12. According to Automaton’s report, there hasn’t been much news since a May 2024 update. However, this was due to series producer Yu Miyake taking over Square Enix’s mobile division, causing quite a stir. Fans have been worried due to the lack of updates, but Horii reassured them that Dragon Quest 12 is still in development and hasn’t been put on hold or canceled by Square Enix. He also apologized for the silence.
In May 2021, during the celebration of its 35th anniversary, Dragon Quest 12: The Flames of Fate was officially announced, along with other Dragon Quest media. However, since then, there hasn’t been much news, only a few updates here and there. Creator Yuji Horii has promised that this silence will soon be broken as they plan to release tidbits of information gradually to keep fans eager for all the exciting details about Dragon Quest 12.
