2025’s Super Bowl LIX halftime show performed by Kendrick Lamar has been labeled as the “most disappointing” or “least favorite” by some spectators. Criticisms about his performance have been trending across various social media platforms.
After the Philadelphia Eagles’ overwhelming victory over the Kansas City Chiefs, Lamar’s performance has been the center of discussion. His rendition of Drake’s diss track “Not Like Us” created quite a buzz. During the show at the Caesars Superdome, Lamar successfully got the crowd to unanimously shout “A Minor!” following his comments about Drake, mentioning that Drake “likes them young.
Although much acclaim has been given to Lamar for his fierce confrontation with his longtime adversary, some still criticized it as one of the poorest performances ever seen in Super Bowl history.

Though Lamar’s intense clash with his longstanding rival earned him lots of praise, many people also labeled it as one of the weakest Super Bowl performances on record.
Reactions to Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl 2025 halftime show
Numerous highly-acclaimed posts about X (formerly known as Twitter) have been critical of Lamar’s performance, using a seemingly unresponsive audience as evidence that it fell short of expectations.
As a devoted fan, I couldn’t help but overhear the chatter about Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl halftime performance being the most disappointing in history. Being a Drake fan, I can’t help but wonder what he might think about this controversial assessment.

Apologies, but I find Kendrick Lamar’s music quite challenging for my taste. His diss tracks are impressive, yet his songs often sound like a discomfort to my ears, much like an unpleasant noise. It seems no one else finds it appealing either, as it doesn’t seem to resonate live performances at all, unfortunately laughing out loud.

Nevertheless, many viewers reported audio difficulties during the broadcast, claiming they couldn’t catch the performance due to the lack of sound.
In a highly-acclaimed Reddit post seeking opinions, one user commented: “The sound quality was disappointing; I had to turn up the speakers quite loudly to make out any words clearly. However, the overall performance was strong. The camera work and choreography were imaginatively done, as usual. And, as anticipated, SZA delivered an outstanding performance.
A different user commented: “The audio was intense. It seemed as though a transcription would be beneficial to get the full experience, yet the hints for ‘Not Like Us’ and its actual performance were fantastic. The parts where ‘a minorrrrr’ was played and Serena dancing received top marks.
After the Super Bowl LIX, it wasn’t just Kendrick Lamar who grabbed everyone’s attention. His performance sparked curiosity about Serena Williams and Drake’s relationship, as well as Taylor Swift standing by her boyfriend, Travis Kelce. Both stories became trending topics.
