In the midst of Blake Lively’s legal disputes with Justin Baldoni, Jed Wallace’s public relations company has filed a lawsuit against her for making damaging statements. The proprietor of the crisis management firm alleges that the Gossip Girl actress harmed his reputation by claiming he generated fabricated content on social media platforms to criticize her unfairly.
As an ardent admirer, here’s my take on the recent lawsuit involving Lively and its implications for her ongoing dispute with Baldoni: I’ve gathered all the specifics about the lawsuit that has been filed against Lively, and I’d like to share some insights into what this legal battle might mean for her contentious feud with Baldoni.
Why was Blake Lively sued by PR firm?
According to reports, Jed Wallace, proprietor of the PR agency Street Relations, has become embroiled in the dispute involving Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni by filing a lawsuit against the actress. The suit was reportedly submitted to a federal court in Texas on February 4th.
According to the records of Wallace’s lawsuit, the actress from It Ends With Us is said to have cited a PR firm in her legal action against Baldoni. She alleges that her co-actor fabricated content on various social media platforms to defend himself, which she found unfair. Furthermore, Wallace seeks $7 million in compensation and requests the court to make it clear that he played no part in any harassment directed towards Lively.
Wallace’s ongoing lawsuit clarifies that “Later on, Lively acknowledged having no facts to back up the accusations against Wallace or Street… It was neither Wallace nor Street who were involved in the alleged sexual harassment, retaliation, negligence in investigation, or aiding and abetting such harassment or retaliation. Moreover, they couldn’t have breached a contract with Lively because no such contract is in existence.
One month ago, Blake Lively filed a petition for Jed Wallace’s deposition in her ongoing legal dispute with Baldoni. Her lawsuit alleged that Wallace’s PR firm attempted to assemble an online supporter base, or “a digital army,” against her. In the petition, it was also disclosed that Wallace’s firm disseminated content that seemed genuine and provided it to the media. Although this content may have appeared authentic, it potentially swayed public opinion against Lively.
Furthermore, Lively’s lawsuit claimed that Wallace attempted to “spread and impact online discussions,” which were critical of her but supportive of Baldoni. Simultaneously, Lively’s attorney, Michael Gottlieb, has also countered Wallace’s recent lawsuit. He spoke with The Hollywood Reporter, stating, “Yet another day, another state, another multi-billion dollar lawsuit aiming to bankrupt Ms. Lively for voicing her opposition to sexual harassment and retaliation.
According to Gottlieb, he believes that the current lawsuit isn’t just a publicity tactic but rather a transparent act of retaliation in response to allegations involving sexual harassment claims. He further stated that this lawsuit can be considered as a “retaliation complaint” against Blake Lively’s petition with the California Civil Rights Department.
