Amazon Studios, under its MGM label, unveiled a fresh sneak peek snapshot of the upcoming movie titled Another Simple Favor, which serves as the sequel to the 2018 film A Simple Favor featuring Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively.
Under the guidance of director Paul Feig, the movie A Simple Favor was premiered in the U.S. back in 2018. This crime-thriller featured Anna Kendrick as Stephanie Smothers and Blake Lively portraying Emily Nelson/Hope McLanden. In the upcoming sequel, both actresses reprise their roles, as they grapple with a murder mystery that takes place at Emily’s wedding in the beautiful Italian town of Capri.
Additionally starring in this film are Henry Golding, Allison Janney, Andrew Rannells, Bashir Salahuddin, Elizabeth Perkins, Michele Morrone, and Alex Newell. The screenplay is penned by Jessica Sharzer and Laeta Kalogridis, inspired by characters originally developed by Darcey Bell.

In the stunning island of Capri, Italy, Stephanie Smothers (Anna Kendrick) and Emily Nelson (Blake Lively) meet again, this time for Emily’s luxurious wedding to a wealthy Italian entrepreneur. The guest list boasts glamour, but also includes murder and deceit, as they promise to add unexpected twists and turns to a ceremony that mirrors the winding road from Marina Grande to the Capri town square.
I’m absolutely ecstatic to return to my favorite festival globally, where we premiered Bridesmaids and Spy. It’s an immense privilege to have our new film kick off everything. I’ve shied away from making sequels for any of my movies, but these characters were too entertaining not to revisit. Therefore, being able to screen our movie alongside the fantastic SXSW audience is a dream I’ll fulfill on March 7th, and watching Dwight Yoakum’s band play drums will become my top priority.
Another Simple Favor will be released globally on Prime Video on May 1, 2025.
