Adam Green is making a new shark attack movie titled The Ascent.
2010 saw Green taking charge as director for the film titled Frozen. It’s crucial not to confuse this with the 2013 Disney animated movie sharing the same name. The story of our 2010 Frozen revolves around three companions who find themselves stuck on a chairlift following a day of skiing, leading them to confront some harrowing life-and-death choices as they struggle to survive the night.
Adam Green is responsible for directing all three Hatchet slasher films: the original Hatchet from 2006, its sequel Hatchet II in 2010, and the fourth installment, Victor Crowley, which came out in 2017. However, it was B.J. McDonnell who took charge of directing Hatchet III, which was released in 2013. Nevertheless, Green contributed to the film by writing the screenplay and serving as its producer.
Currently, according to Deadline, Green is creating the movie titled “The Ascent,” which marks the first project on a new global distribution line under the Simple House Films label. The production company, Simple House Films, is managed by Addam Bramich, Ryan Hamilton, and Volodymyr Artamenko.
What is Adam Green’s The Ascent about?
In The Ascent, the narrative unfolds as a band of friends journey to Europe for an extravagant yet perilous destination wedding. Initially, their time together is filled with amusement and camaraderie. However, the festivities soon take a dark turn when they find themselves in a harrowing predicament – hanging precariously over shark-inhabited waters and facing a struggle for survival.
Artemenko expressed excitement in a statement, “We’re delighted to have a platform for creating and sharing significant stories with our audiences. We’re equally excited about starting an international sales unit and partnering with Anastazja Bankowska to bring top-notch theatrical films to a global market.
Besides Frozen and Hatchet movies, Green’s film portfolio also features Coffee & Donuts (released in 2000), Spiral (2007), Chillerama (2011), Digging Up the Marrow (2014), and For the Love of Halloween (2018).
At the moment, no details about the cast for The Ascent have been disclosed. As of now, there’s no confirmed release date for the movie.
