The box office weekend projections for Disney’s Snow White have come in.
As a gaming enthusiast, I’m super excited to share that I’ll be heading to the cinemas in the U.S. this coming March! It’s none other than the live-action reboot of Disney’s timeless classic, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, originally released back in 1937. In this modern take, Rachel Zegler brings Snow White to life, while Gal Gadot takes on the wicked role of the Evil Queen. Can’t wait for this magical journey!
How much is Snow White projected to make in the United States during its opening weekend?
By the set deadline, it’s projected that Snow White will earn approximately $63-$70 million in the U.S. over its first weekend.
This position places it after the 2023 live-action adaptation of The Little Mermaid, which generated approximately $95.6 million in its initial three days and $118.8 million over its four-day Memorial Day weekend, accumulating a total of around $569.6 million globally when it concluded its cinematic run.
As a die-hard movie enthusiast, I must say that the tracking numbers for this upcoming release have surpassed my expectations, outpacing the impressive opening weekend haul of The Lion King’s Mufasa, which stood at $36.8 million and has since grossed over $650 million in total.
It’s significant to mention that the new Disney film is projected to have the highest domestic opening for Rachel Zegler, surpassing The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Singbords and Snakes, which currently holds the record with a $44.6 million weekend.
In March 2025, the remake doesn’t have many rivals among family films being released; however, a Minecraft Movie could pose some challenge when it debuts in theaters two weeks after. On the same day as Snow White, there will be The Alto Knights featuring Robert De Niro and Magazine Dreams starring Jonathan Majors.
Under the direction of Marc Webb, who previously worked on The Amazing Spider-Man, the movie titled Snow White is set to hit American theaters on March 21, 2025. This film will be distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures.
