The Creep Tapes Renewed for Season 2, Mark Duplass Issues Statement

The chilling found-footage horror series “The Creep Tapes,” part of the highly praised Creep franchise spearheaded by Mark Duplass, has been granted a fresh season on Shudder.

In November 2024, The Creep Tapes’ debut season aired on Shudder and AMC+. This series was developed by writers and executive producers Duplass and Patrick Brice, who also helmed Creep and Creep 2. Notably, Brice not only co-produced but also starred in the original Creep film and directed all six episodes of The Creep Tapes.

What did Mark Duplass say about The Creep Tapes’ Season 2 renewal?

In the initial run of The Creep Tapes, we produced it all on our own, giving us the freedom to express ourselves freely and uncensored. It’s incredible that so many people watched it that Shudder not only wanted more but asked us to push the boundaries even further. Honestly, that’s both incredibly unnerving and incredibly thrilling,” Duplass commented in a statement released by Deadline.

The television show focuses on a character named Peachfuzz, initially presented in 2014’s Creep as Josef. In upcoming developments, the second season of Creep Tapes (a six-episode series) is due this year, delving deeper into the lives of the serial killer’s victims.

In the Creep series, Duplass reappeared, assuming roles as Jeff Daniels, Father Tom Durkin, and Kyle for this installment. Notable guest stars in the initial season included Josh Fadem, Josh Ruben, Krisha Fairchild, among others.

The miniseries delves deeper into the enigma of a solitary serial killer who deceives videographers with job offers to record his life. However, once the camera starts rolling, the killer’s suspicious motives become apparent through his bizarre actions. Sadly, it becomes clear that the victims may have inadvertently stepped into a deadly trap.

No release date has been set yet for The Creep Tapes Season 2.
