How Did Iyo Sky React to Rhea Ripley Costing Her the Title Opportunity?

On the recent episode of Monday Night RAW, Rhea Ripley as the current WWE Women’s World Champion denied Iyo Sky a significant chance at the title by outperforming her at the WWE Royal Rumble 2025 event over the weekend. Sky was aiming to qualify for WrestleMania 41, but unfortunately came up short in this instance.

At the WWE Royal Rumble 2025 event, Sky put on an outstanding show. Kicking off the Women’s Royal Rumble bout, she managed to stay in for an impressive duration of 1 hour, 6 minutes, and 45 seconds before Nia Jax ultimately eliminated her from the match.

Regardless of the obstacle, Sky was given another chance. Prior to WWE RAW, General Manager Adam Pearce declared that Iyo Sky would compete against Liv Morgan in a qualifying match for the Elimination Chamber.

Prior to the game, Sky had a confrontation with Rhea Ripley backstage. But instead of siding with Sky, Liv Morgan caught Sky off guard. When Ripley tried to intervene, Raquel Rodriguez suddenly attacked her, resulting in both Ripley and Sky ending up on the ground.

Later that night, during the contest, Raquel Rodriguez attempted to disrupt Sky for Morgan’s benefit. However, Rhea Ripley intervened to aid Sky instead, but in the ensuing confusion, she inadvertently struck Morgan with a forearm. This blunder resulted in Sky’s disqualification, which ultimately allowed Liv Morgan to secure a spot in the Elimination Chamber match.

Following the fight, Sky encountered Ripley in the ring. Ripley attempted to justify her actions, but Sky remained unyielding and departed angrily. Disappointed yet again by a squandered title opportunity, Sky expressed herself on X (previously Twitter), saying “I am at a loss for words…” suggesting his displeasure with Ripley’s behavior.

What’s next for Iyo Sky after falling short on WWE RAW?

Unfortunately, Sky’s chance to compete for the Women’s World Title has passed by, making her path to WrestleMania 41 appear more difficult. But with WWE Elimination Chamber: Toronto fast approaching and two bouts already scheduled, there’s still a glimmer of hope that she might get another opportunity before long.
