A crisis management company is taking legal action against Blake Lively, claiming defamation. This action stems from the ongoing dispute between Lively and Justin Baldoni.
What is Blake Lively being accused of?
On Tuesday, Jed Wallace, from Street Relations, filed a lawsuit in a Texas federal court, claiming that Lively had defamed him. In her initial lawsuit against Baldoni, Lively asserted that Baldoni fabricated numerous posts on social media, which attacked Lively and supported Baldoni – an allegation that, according to Wallace, implicated his company negatively.
Wallace is pursuing compensation of at least $7 million, as well as requesting a court ruling that he did not mistreat or attempt any retaliation towards Lively. This action was taken following Lively’s filing of a petition for Wallace to be deposed in the ongoing legal dispute between her and Baldoni, which occurred only a month ago.
In Lively’s complaint, she claimed that Wallace collaborated with Baldoni’s public relations group to disseminate content and grow an online presence aimed at disparaging her, following their disagreement which occurred shortly after the release of the film “It Ends With Us.
Lively’s complaint alleges that Baldoni created a hostile work environment
Everything originates from a formal grievance lodged by Lively against Baldoni in December. In this complaint, she alleged that the filming of It Ends With Us became increasingly difficult to the point where an emergency meeting was convened to address her accusations of a toxic work atmosphere. During this meeting, Lively requested that Baldoni cease sharing nude videos or images of women with her, that he refrain from discussing his history of pornography addiction, that he desist from describing sexual experiences in her presence, and that he also avoid commenting on Lively’s weight.
The complaint further states that Wayfarer Studios and the cast had agreed to emphasize Lively’s character’s strength and resilience rather than focusing on the movie as a domestic violence narrative. Yet, Lively alleges that Baldoni violated this agreement by discussing the film’s grave subject matter in interviews instead.
In the documents submitted by Lively, it’s stated that Baldoni and his PR manager, Melissa Nathan, allegedly brainstormed strategies for a social media smear campaign aimed at damaging her reputation. The filing includes approximately 22 pages of text messages between Baldoni’s representative and Nathan, where they express the desire to see Lively “discredited.
