Sunny Dancer Cast: Neil Patrick Harris & More Join Bella Ramsey Movie

Neil Patrick Harris (known for “How I Met Your Mother”), James Norton (“Little Women”), and Jessica Gunning (“Baby Reindeer”) have been chosen to be part of the cast for an upcoming coming-of-age romance comedy titled “Sunny Dancer“. This project originates from actor-turned-filmmaker George Jaques.

The movie focuses on Ivy, a teenager who isn’t excited about going to a summer camp for young cancer survivors. Despite having successfully battled cancer herself, Ivy views the camp – dubbed ‘Chemo Camp’ – as something to be avoided at all costs. However, this turns out to be a camp that teaches her valuable lessons about love, genuine friendships, and maintaining an optimistic and humorous outlook on life, despite the challenges she faces.

Who will lead the Sunny Dancer cast?

In the movie titled “Sunny Dancer,” Bella Ramsey, a multiple Emmy and Golden Globe nominee known for her roles in Game of Thrones and The Last of Us, will portray the character Ivy. Alongside her, Louis Partridge (from Enola Holmes) and Ruby Stokes (Lockwood & Co.) will also star. This film is a heartfelt, humorous, and romantic tale about growing up, which is set to be penned and helmed by Jaques, who previously directed the comedy drama Black Dog in 2023 for his first feature-length directorial venture.

The movie will be made by Ken Petrie under his production label, 27 Ten, together with Jacques from Athenaeum Productions. As of now, True Brit Entertainment is planning for a nationwide screening in the U.K. during 2026. It’s anticipated that filming will start around April.

Jaques expressed tremendous enthusiasm about having incredibly skilled individuals joining the team. These artists truly excel in their fields, making them true masters. Together, they’re working on a film that will make you laugh until you cry, then make you cry again, and ultimately leave you with a new perspective on the resilience of youth. Instead of seeing them as victims, I hope the audience will view them as bold, complex individuals brimming with life.
