Mason Gooding has provided some details about Scream 7.
In the ongoing filming of the seventh installment of “Scream,” set in Atlanta, we’ll see the comeback of Gooding portraying Chad Meeks-Martin, a character he initially played in 2022 and revisited for “Scream VI” in 2023.
In Scream 7, the specifics of the storyline remain under wraps, but it’s likely that we’ll delve back into the tale of Sidney Prescott. Actress Neve Campbell is set to reprise her role as the beloved heroine who always manages to survive until the end.
What did Mason Gooding say about Scream 7?
At present, specifics regarding Scream 7 remain scarce. However, Gooding, set to appear in the forthcoming film Heart Eyes, hinted that the seventh chapter of the renowned slasher series would showcase an exceptionally brutal version of Ghostface.
In simpler terms, the actor shared with the I’ve Never Said This Before podcast (through Bloody Disgusting) that this Ghostface is exceptionally violent from a practical perspective. He mentioned there will be lots of blood and internal organs, and given Kevin Williamson is directing, fans can anticipate some exciting developments regarding these characters.
Apart from Gooding and Campbell, we’ve got some familiar faces coming back too! Courteney Cox will reprise her role as Gale Weathers, and Jasmin Savoy Brown has been cast as Mindy Meeks-Martin. Matthew Lillard and Scott Foley, who previously portrayed Stu Macher and Roman Bridger, are also making a comeback.
Introducing fresh faces such as Isabel May (Run Hide Fight), Celeste O’Connor (Freaky), Mckenna Grace (Young Sheldon), Sam Rechner (Heartbreak High), Asa Germann (Gen V), Anna Camp (True Blood), Mark Consuelos (Husband for Hire), Ethan Embry (Sweet Home Alabama), and Joel McHale (Crime Scene Kitchen) to the screen.
The latest Scream film, which marks its seventh installment, is being released by Paramount Pictures. Notably, this movie is helmed by long-time franchise director Kevin Williamson.
Scream 7 is set to hit theaters on February 27, 2026.
