What is Disposable Humanity about?
The movie traces the journey of the Mitchell family, academic experts in Disability Studies and filmmakers, who have delved into the Nazi Aktion T4 program since the 1990s. By engaging with memorial leaders, disabled individuals, and family members of T4 victims, they expose a chilling revelation: the Nazi Aktion T4 program was not only a training ground for killing personnel but also a blueprint for the machinery of mass murder that paved the way for the Holocaust. This documentary investigation sheds light on how disabled people were the first to be targeted under the Nazi regime, and how this dark chapter in history has been concealed and forgotten from global public consciousness.
This documentary titled “Disposable Humanity” was crafted by Cameron S. Mitchell and David T. Mitchell, who also appear on screen. Other participants in the film are Sharon L. Snyder, Emma Janes Mitchell, Susanne Knittel, Andy Hechler, Andreas Knitz, among others. The executive producers of this project are C. Mitchell, D. Mitchell, Steve Way, and Nic Novicki, with Rachel Sophia Stewart and C. Mitchell handling the editing duties. Spanning 94 minutes in total, the film is now ready to be shown.
